RN102 and UPS.
Hi
I'm using a netgear readynas RN102 with 2 4TB HDD.
I will setup a UPS to protect the data and i'm a bit unsure before choosing the correct equipment
The UPS will only feed the NAS, no other devices. I prefer to use a small UPS for cost reason. If 150$ is ok, why buy a bigger device (of course I not the battery should be replacable...)
I've carefully read the documentation as well as the forum. Do I need a UPS with ethernet port, is a model with USB ok? any suggestion of a working model would be very appreciated
I did work as a system manager and recall that from brand to brand and OS, there may be some trouble to find compatible equipment ;-)
Does for example the APC Back-UPS Pro 550 (model BR550GI ) as expected works (it has a USB port for management, but no ethernet port)
thanks you!

You want a UPS with a USB connector for monitoring (not ethernet or serial). Many people use APC, I use CyberPower myself.
Hopefully another user will chime in on the BR550GI.

Hi,
I use an APC BE700G UPS with my RN102. I then share it via the network with my RN204. This UPS is connected via USB to my RN102, and just worked out of the box. I also use another of these UPS's, but for a server on my network and in that UPS I have replaced the battery once - I got the replacement battery on Amazon too.
I also have some USB hard drives for backups and I have them on the UPS too.

I hope this helps,

Thanks for your answers.
I order an APC BE700G-GR (about 100 €) and report here about the connection
