ReadyCloud must be enabled on the NAS. But since you cannot get there via ReadyCloud, you need to use the local GUI via https://<ip.of.your.nas>/admin, or download RAIDar and start your browser via it.

IMHO, if you are on the same network as the NAS and always will be, using ReadyCloud is just plain silly. I do not understand why Netgear pushes that method.

Thanks for you response. I am able to get to the NAS drive admin page using brower, but I would like to use the BackUp Sync App from ReadyCloud to backup my PC. When i go to this app, it says drive is offline.

I am not sure how to enable ReadyCloud on the NAS.

Start by logging into the web admin UI and going to the cloud page.

If ReadyCloud isn't enabled, then enable it there. You should see two green checkmarks on that page (one indicating internet connectivity, the other indicating that the NAS is connecting to the ReadyCloud service).

Personally I'm with Sandshark on this. I don't recommend that particular method of PC backup, especially if you are mostly on the same network as the NAS. It doesn't back up everything on the PC, and there isn't any good way to schedule it, etc.

So I think there are better backup solutions (including some free ones).
