I haven't sent an email link in a long time, now I'm trying to and I don't have the option to. My firmware has been upgraded to 6.10.8. I right click the file I want to send and nothing shows up. I've been able to do this since I got this NAS so what did they do. I also tried to go back to an older firmware version but it won't let me downgrade.

Thanks for any help that can be provided.

  • I assume you are trying to do that via ReadyCloud.  ReadyCloud has been discontinued.  See the announcement on the main forum page.  There has been a warning about the impending take-down there and on the ReadyCloud main page for some months, but Netgear didn't send any emails out to the users.

So I'm SOL? There isn't another solution? I still want to send email links for people to download from my NAS.

I don't know a good solution for that.  For  general access, a VPN works fine.  But for that specific use, the only thing that comes to mind is OwnCloud or NextCloud, which used to have a ReadyNAS-specific version offered by rnxtras.com, but he's closed his doors, too.  You could still use one of those, but installing it on a ReadyNAS (except maybe in Docker) will be quite a chore.  You could install it on an always-on PC and link the NAS as "external storage".
