rn314 will not see an 512gb sdxc card.
The display shows that the card has been plugged in but neither WIndows Explorer nor the RAIDar show that the card is present. I am using a Samsung adapter which works fine on PCs. Does anyone have...

Thank you StephenB.
I have taken up your suggestion and made the ideas post.
The other NAS is a QNAP_TS253pro.
It is surprising that such a common file structure is not supported.

Hello, The file structure is "exFAT"
That's the problem. The current list is here: https://kb.netgear.com/7009/ReadyNAS-OS-6-USB-Port-use?cid=wmt_netgear_organic
- USB drives should have BTRFS, EXT2/3, FAT32 or NTFS format.

PS The SDXC card is read by a NAS not of Netgear manufacture.
I think you should post the suggestion of exFAT support on the idea exchange. No harm in naming that manufacturer there :smileywink:

An update:
I used a utility called
fat32format [ http://www.ridgecrop.demon.co.uk/index.htm?contact.htm ] to reformat my Kingston 512GB SDXC card from exFAT to FAT32.
The size reported by Windows of 477GB has not changed and the card fcontinues to function.
The card can also now be accessed by the RN314.
Note that reformatting the card will delete all data on it; a point made by the author, Tom Thornhill,
in his interesting comments on the reasoning behind his utility.

Note that fat32 has a 2 GB limit on the file size. You can easily exceed that limit with HD video (as well as backup images and ISO files).
NTFS is one way to avoid those limits - but if you need write access on an OSX system you'll need to install paragon or something similar.

Good point about the 2GB limit.
