I am configuring a home network, I decided I want a Netgear nas rack server (4 bay) for my central storage. Am currently shopping for network cabinets to put it in. Do not want to run in to the problem of the server being to big. If anyone could give me some options for a nerwork cabinet that us of good quality and not to pricey that would be great. It will be a 4 bay 1U rack server.ReadyNAS 312 and 422
I have 2 ReadyNAS storage system one is RN312 (2x2TB) and the other one (new) is RN422 (2x3TB). I would like to make a copy of everything from RN312 to RN422. If I take off one of the hard disks (backup one) from RN312 and insert into RN422, in this way Can I make a copy of data in the RN312 to RN422? I have 2 hard disks 2x3TB in the RN422. What I want to do is that: 1. I will take off 2 TB hard disk (backup one) from RN312 2. Insert into RN422 Bay 1 and insert empty NEW 3TB hard disk int the other Bay 3. Wait for a while until all data is copied from 2TB HD to 3TB HD. Do you think it will work? Thank you very much for your help in advance.Copying data from ReadyNAS104 to Seagate Innov8
Hi there, I am using RN104 with the latest OS. Have close to 7TB of data, which I am planning to back-up to Seagate Innov8(USB3.1 Gen 2) hard drive. Is there any way to connect the Seagate to ReadyNAS. Or is there a better way to copy the data from RN104 to Seagate Innov8 without much of a manual intervention. TIA.SolvedEncrypted SDD drive with RN102
Hi, I hope I’m posting in the correct section but I was wondering if someone can give me some advice. Am I able to attach an encrypted SSD drive to one of the USB3.0 ports at the back of my RN102 and use this through my NAS? I’m looking at something like this https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00TR8V32U/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_tai_Ta.2Ab For example could I choose to save certain folder to the encrypted SDD drive and not on the ReadyNAS drives or would I have to save them there first then back them up onto the encrypted SSD drive? if this is not possible can I encrypted a part of my ReadyNAS HDD or create an encrypted partition within my ReadyNAS? Trying to find a solution to keeping some data encrypted as per the new GDPR laws in the UK. Many thanks, KateRN528 HDD Array Support / ReadyCloud functionality for DropBox
Dear Community I am interested in the ReadyNas RN 528 X. Are external hard disk arrays like the Lian Li EX-503 on the USB3 port basically compatible / supported? If so, would an already existing JBOD RAID configuration / EXT4 partition detected? This was created and operated with a Synology DS1815 +. I would also like to know if the ReadyCloud is comparable good functionality like DSM's Cloud Sync service? Does ReadyCloud work stably and reliably, and does it exist the possibility of selective folder synchronization, or will at least the possibility of choosing a single folder offered as sync target? Are there any limitations on folder size for the DropBox folder? In my case it is more than 10 terabytes! Please excuse the many and detailed questions, but I canˋt find information on the internet. Accordingly, I would be very grateful for support! With kind regards, RomanoUSB HDD used as destination for Backup of 314 / use old NAS instead?
I purchased a Seagate Expansion 3TB Desktop External Hard Drive USB 3.0 (STBV3000100) few years back to serve as my destination to backup my RN314. I plugged it into the front port of my NAS and while I am able to back up to it, it only recognizes 2 TB of space. 1. Have I done something that limited my NAS to recognizing only 2TB. 2. Assuming I fix that, or the NAS OS is capable of larger destination drives, what is maximum supported? I currently only back up with shares and not my timemachine (a decision made mainly about space). I recently began a vertical upgrade of space on my NAS, because my Shares grew. I am now backup up only 3 of 4 shares. The data on the 4th is replaceable with a little effort. As an asude, I still have the chassis of my old ReadyNAS NV+ can I fill it with retired HDD from my upgrade and use it as a backup destination? EIther place it offsite and backup over the net (might be too slow) or bring it onsite once a week and store it off site?SolvedCannot access my Shares after windows 10 update = SMB1 problem
I need help with my nass , after updating to the latest version of windows 10 a few weeks ago, I lost connectivity via smb to my data/shares. The problem seems to be related to smb version1 not being secure enough for windows 10. Has anyone found a solution to this please ? SvenRouter doesnt recognize external USB hard drive
I have a ReadyNAS RND4000 with 4x1TB drives. It's old but working well. I have attached a 2 TB external drive to the USB port for offsite storage. It's worked fine, but is now full. I attached a 5 TB external drive and the NAS isn't recognizing it. Advice?Does ReadyNAS support UASP on USB 3.0 ports?
I just came across UASP as I was looking for an enclosure for a HDD for external backups. "Use of UAS generally provides faster transfers compared to the older USB Mass Storage Bulk-Only Transport (BOT) drivers." So does ReadyNas support UASP on the USB 3.0 ports?Solved
