RN516 Serial Console Redirection

I have given up on using the UART TTL console on the rear of the RN516 units but would like to redirect the /dev/console output that defaults to "dev/tty" and "/dev/ttyS0" to the front USB port. I understand there is a "trick" to do this but I don't seem to find the usual files for doing console redirection, nor an identification of which port the front USB port represents.

If there is an existing article on this, I would appreciate the link, but I've been searching for one and found nothing on that, but a lot of interesting reading.

Ideally, I would like an approach that survives OS updates, but I don't mind any solution that would work on a consistent basis.
