What are you using to measure the speeds? Also, what NIC card are you using in the PC?

Hi Stepehn,
Thans for the response. I'm using LAN Speed Test by Tutusoft to measure the speeds on both the PC and Mac.
The NIC is StarTech (not sure which one withour checking)

Can you also test with NasTester? (http://www.808.dk/?code-csharp-nas-performance) You might want to increase the test transfer to 1 gigabyte,
FWIW, your iMAC speeds are similar to what I see on my Windows 10 system, accessing an RN526x using a Netgear XS708Ev2 switch. The PC is using an Asus XG-C100C NIC. You probably should enable flow control on the switch and the PC nic card.

I've tested with NAS Tester - the results are completeyly different: 630 m/b sec Write and 731 m/bsec Read
I'm not sure why this would vary so much from the LAN speed test.
I also tried enabling flow control but this had no effect.
The NAS tester did seem to wipe out the NIC card so I had to restart the machine. It did this twice.
