RNDP4000

I literally pulled an Old readyNAS out of the trash.  I have done a factory reset and an OS reinstall but the default admin/password or admin/netgear1 won't allow me to get in.

What can I do?  I'm running MAC OS 15.6.1 so No help from RAIDar...

Something I found after getting my 4000 NAS in from goodwill, Had to install a old version of FireFox browser. Was able to fully access the NAS web pages then. Something you can try on Mac as well.

      could also try infrant1

Probably should be netgear1 but cannot hurt to try as above

Otherwise the unit must NOT be completing the factory default/reset properly?

Unless you have an odd/weird/unusual layout keyboard or something?

Well, if it is an RNDP4000, then it is a Pro 4 - never made by infrant, so the default password would be netgear1.

Of course, it could be a different model, so if so, we'd need to figure out exactly what it is.

If the unit is diskless, then that would fully explain the symptoms. There are several other things that could be wrong, and it would be very helpful to know what is on the LCD screen.

Also, if the Mac uses an Intel processor, then RAIDar will work, and would give useful info on what is wrong.

Normally that is a workaround for the lack of TLS 1.2 support.  The error message in that situation is an SSL Version/Cipher Mismatch.  You can also use a current FireFox browser if you change a security setting (unless the unit is very old).

One aspect here is that we don't know if the Pro has been converted to OS-6 or not.  OS-6 does support TLS 1.2.

    What disks are you using?

Are you seeing any issues on the front panel?

Is the Mac using an M series processor?

If this NAS is running 4.2.x firmware, then you likely are getting an SSL version/encryption mismatch error.  Is that what you are seeing?  If you aren't sure, then post a screenshot.
