I just received another email from Seagate:
I was glad to see that they didn't just dismiss me. However, I don't know what to send them.
beisser, can you help me out here? You obviously had contact with Seagate and they acknowledged the problem and suggested we send in our drives for a replacement with another firmware. Is there any documentation or reference number I can refer to?
Thanks / Mattias
Dear Mrs./ Mr. ,
Thank you for contacting Seagate Technical Support.
The firmware bug you are referring to is so far not known as an issue. Plese send any documentation and evidence about this bug to us so that we can put a solution in place that can benefit other customers as well.
Firmware upgrades, if and when they become available for your drive, will be listed on our website. Unfortunately, there is no upgrade at this time, and we won't be able to provide you with a manual upgrade.
When you create a RMA, we have unfortunately no influence over what firmware version the drive will have.
If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact Seagate Technical Support.
Best regards
Ulrich
