PapaBear is absolutely correct here. The drives that show under your device on the HCL have been fully tested and proven to function correctly with that particular ReadyNAS device. Some appear on lists that aren't on others. So it is always best to find one that is compatible with your specific ReadyNAS so that you won't experience some strange issue with a drive that hasn't been tested; or failed to make the HCL for that particular NAS.
