It's when you write a list like this that you realize just how much stuff is lying around the apartment
- NAS: ReadyNAS NV+ with 4x Seagate 1tb drives (the ones with the bad firmware last year)
- Server: 8-year old Shuttle box running Windows 2003 Server Enterprise with Athlon XP 1200 MHz underclocked to 900MHz (less heat and power). 786 megs ram and 2x 120 gig PATA drives, Intel Gigabit NIC. Planning to upgrade this one next year.
- Wife's machine: Mac Mini running Windows Vista Home Premium. 24 inch Apple Cinema display.
- My machine: Lian-Li case (looove) running Windows 7 Ultimate with Core 2 Duo 3GHz, 4 gigs RAM, 1x 128gig SSD and 1x 500gig 2½" Seagate Momentus 7200rpm, Radeon HD4850, Coolmax fanless PSU, various very quiet fans from IXP and Scythe, Scythe CPU heasink, Thermalright GPU heatsink, Intel Gigabit NIC, 24 inch Sony display.
- HTPC: Silverstone HTPC case (black of course) running Windows Vista Home Premium with Core 2 Duo 2.13GHz, 2 gigs RAM, 1x 64gig SSD, Radeon HD2450 (fanless), Zen fanless PSU, Silverstone fanless CPU heatsink, Intel Gigabit NIC, 42 inch LG LCD, Logitech Harmony One remote for this one and the Denon receiver+KEF speakers.
- Laptops: Lenovo Thinkpad X200, IBM Thinkpad T41, IBM Thinkpad X22 (older even than the server, but fine for the kids).
- Switches: 2x 3Com gigabit with Jumbo Frame support.
- Router and AP: 2x Buffalo WZR-HP-G300N.
More info and pics. Page needs updating though. http://www.rosboch.net/quietpc.htm
