I would backup your data, perhaps doing a System > Config Backup then doing a factory reset.
Each time you swap a disk, a resync occurs, then once the resync finishes your replace the next disk, then finally you reboot and expansion occurs. This does take a while and when you consider how long it takes, backing up and doing a factory reset doesn't sound so bad.
