Resync Issues with Barracuda LP ST2000DL003
3 days ago I Expanded to 2 TB using the above disks. I have done 2 volume resync's now. yesterday I was getting error messages when streaming - File no longer available and or connection failed. I also got a Frontview alert saying I need to do another volume resync..
"A SATA reset has been performed on one or more of your disks that may have affected the RAID parity integrity. It is recommended that you perform a RAID volume resync from the RAID Settings tab.."
I am waiting for the third resync to complete now, but I am concerned that one of the drives may be faulty.

- PapaBear1ApprenticeYou might check the SMART logs for each drive. If nothing shows up there, when the resync is finished. Shut the NAS down normally with the power button. The remove each drive separately and attach to an SATA port on the motherboard of your PC and runs SeaTools. You can run the short drive self test, but I generally just run the long generic. It will take about 2 hours to run the tests, so you want to plan for the outage of your Duo.
You may also want to connect the old drives to your PC and back up all the data that will fit on the drive. This can easily be done by copy/paste across the network. Remember, it's better to have a current and complete backup and not need it, than need it and not have it. - gerardhoranAspirantI just added a second ST2000DL003 to my Nas Duo.
( removed a 1.5 TB Seagte and added this 2 TB drive to add raid to my existing 2 TB ST32000542AS and to increase the total capacity which was limited by the 1.5 TB Drive)
The first ST200DL003 did not work at all so I sent it back to Amazon, the second drive they sent me seemed to work flawlessly. It detect the drive, re synced and then flawlessly did the Volume Expansion. ( required 2 reboots)
The first day I got a SATA reset on the new drive and had to resync. That seemed to go ok, then I noticed my Time Machine Backups were failing. Again when more SATA resets and the performance was AWFUL.
At this point I have removed the ST200DL003 and am running with no X Raid on a single 2 TB ST32000542AS
All is working fine.
I am suspicious of the ST200DL003 Drives in the DUO, can anybody confirm that these drives work reliably in the NET NAS Duo?
ger - bulltanAspirantI have also encountered the completely same phenomenon as a contributor.
Recording reservation of TV also sometimes goes miss.
DUO is 4.1.8.
HDD is CC3C.
Isn't it a problem of FW?
