Strange download behaviour ReadyNas 102 datetime
Since long and even with the latest ReadyOS 6.10.3 I have a persistent problem with my ReadyNas 102 for which I can't find a solution
If I WGET from the internet a file (on several Windows versions) :
- onto a local drive or another brand of NAS, the file ends up downloaded with the DateTime as available on the internet-server
- when I do eactly the same onto my ReadyNas, the file ends up downloaded with DateTime when downloaded
- if I download it onto a local drive or another brand of NAS, followed by a COPY onto the ReadyNas, it ends up with the original DateTime
What might be the reason of this odd behaveour, and how can it be solved ?
Seems not the internet-server nor WGET can be the reason
Thanks

Are you running WGET on the PC or running it natively on the NAS with SSH? I am suspecting you are running it on the PC (since running WGET natively didn't do this when I tried it).
If it is on the PC, then it is probably related to the SAMBA configuration on the NAS. Not sure what it is exactly - dos filetimes is set to yes in the normal configuration, so wget should be able to set the timestamp to whatever it wants.
If you have a PC that supports NFS, you could try a test using NFS instead of SMB, and see if that changes the behavior.
You could also maybe try mapping the share to a drive letter, and see if using the drive letter path makes a difference.
