I am setting up my readynas to provide remote access to two users. I want them to be able to access info--documents, pictures, and music files on my readynas. I want them to be able to only read in...
I read this article and was wondering if it would apply to my situation:
You can try it, but that's using SMB to set up permissions. I don't think they apply to ReadyCloud access (assuming you meant ReadyCloud when you said remote users), but I could be wrong. I don't use ReadyCloud.

I don't use ReadyCloud either.
But it does use SMB for the windows clients at least, and file permissions still apply. So I think is worth a try.
Setting up two shares instead of two subfolders might work out better though.
If the goal is to restrict access on some files/folders, then if using a method that seems to work, you'd want to check that the restriction also applies if the invited user users the ReadyCLOUD website, the iOS app, etc., to prevent exposing unwanted data.

Yes. It's important to check that the access works as you expect (allowing access where you want that, and limiting access where you want that). In this particular case, that includes web and mobile app access.
