To saudade---I have tried many different time servers including time.nist.gov---to no avail----you're missing the point---it will NOT accept ANY time server---it simply spins a bit then blanks it out.
To Sandshark---THAT was my first thought too---but NOT true---it was set properly. And again---now that I turned it to manual and set it properly---I can't get the AUTO set feature to accept ANY time server---and least we all forget---meanwhile my other NAS works as always behind the same router---and in any event I checked the router time settings and firmware to see all okay there--and it is.

FWIW, 0.us.pool.ntp.org is working on all my NAS.
Did you try rebooting?
Is there anything useful in the log zip file?
