Syncing shares across multiple PCs
I swear I will be a top contributor by the time I have asked all my questions. Anyhow, my question for today is what is the best way to sync a share to multiple PCs on the same network? I am hon...

I just decided to test this out, but had different results that what BrianL mentioned.
- I created a Share called "SharedSync".
- I placed 61 files (with some subfolders) into ShareSync from my laptop. These files are files that my wife and I must have access to on a daily or weekly basis from both of our PCs.
- On my laptop, I went to the ReadyCloud PC app (in the system tray), selected the option menu for SharedSync and selected "Sync to this PC". This caused all those files that were placed in the SharedSync share to download and "sync" to a new folder on my computer.
- I went downstairs to my wife's laptop (different laptop) and did step 3. It also downloaded the same files to a new folder on her PC.
- I then modified a single file in the downloaded SharedSync folder on her PC, then saved, and closed it.
- I went upstairs to my laptop and verified that the file was changed - it was. Moreover, this process did not create a new share on the NAS with the PC name + share name.
This is the behavior I was hoping for, so I am happy!

Hi MathemAddicts,
Using the sync feature of the ReadyCLOUD app per PC creates a share on the ReadyNAS. So if you will sync a common share per PC, it will create multiple shares with the PC name + share name selected. I would suggest that you create a per PC backup job and select a specific share as the destination.
Let me know if you have further questions.
Kind regards,
BrianL
