Ultra 2 second disk's LED does not work
The "Disk #2" LED on my Ultra 2 has probably never worked.
I came to notice this when factory resetting the unit after warranty replacement of the two WD Green Caviar disks (both having passed 300k+ on LCC, issue solved thanks to IDLE3 tool I found on this great forum :D).
While resetting and cycling through all the boot options the 2nd disk's LED never lit up.
I did query the store about this (unit is still under warranty) and they said they would have to send in the unit for investigation/repair/replacement which usually takes three weeks or more... :(
Three weeks without my music, etc seemed like a high price to get the LED working (Email alerts work fine and I regularly check in with Frontview for maintenance, etc)
It is tempting to open up the box and check if some cable is out, etc - have anyone on this forum attempted this?
Or is the LED surface soldered to some circuit board more or less pointing to a broken LED requiring factory replacement (I do have a decent soldering station, etc)?
/f
