Unknown, but I had a similar problem with a D-Link DGS2205 switch I had installed when I was running an NV+, and all was good. I then installed a (then) new NVX and while the file transfer speeds to the NVX were great, the file transfer speeds from the unit were abysmal. I reinstalled my old Netgear FS-105 on a temporary basis and the speeds were slow as expected, but when the new Netgear GS-108 arrived and I installed it, speeds in both direction met specifications.
In both of our cases, something in the circuitry of the troublesome device did not react well to the faster x-86 units. I never worried too much about it, I was just glad I was able to solve it and moved on.
