ULTRA6/4.2.22/WD20 EARS/WD20 EARX
hi there,
have a 3 bunch of old WD20EARS not anymore produced and WD20EARX next same model in sata6
all have been wdidle3 /D before mounting on nas to prevent LLC count
but it seems to be buggy to disable it with /D and freeze the nas
i shutdown the nas and make all the 6 disks on the pc and make wdidle3 /s300 to park head all 5 minutes instead of 8seconds
the /D seems to not really disable parking head it make in fact 62 minutes...
disabling the hdd standy after x minutes setting in the nas parameters it seems buggy with those drives
keep in mind the 8TB online expansion limit, you must do a factory reset to have 9.3TB usable or it will block at 8.3TB
