Well FTP and NFS aren't backup protocols but you can still use them. FTP is typically used for uploading to websites whilst NFS is often used with Linux clients. Now the ReadyNAS is a Linux device, so NFS and Rsync, native Linux protocols will work well for ReadyNAS to ReadyNAS backups. NFS much quicker for full backups and Rsync slow for full backups but a great option for incrementals.
