Upgrading from Pro6 to 316 or 516
Hi all, So seeing the cost of the tech calls and that my pro6 chassis is end of life anyway. I'm considering to migrating my functioning disks and data to a new box since I tried to adjust something...

If there is a software issue it will move with the disks.
Can you access your data now? If so getting new disks for the new NAS and copying the data across using backup jobs would be best. See How do I back up data from a RAIDiator 4 system to a ReadyNAS OS 6 system?
You could then reverse the source and destination for your backup jobs to use the Pro 6 to backup your new NAS.
Also we just released some new models the RN526X and RN626X. You may also wish to consider these models as well. The RN526X does cost a bit more than the RN516, but the RN526X does have newer hardware and two 10GBASE-T ports for 10G networking. The RN626X has a quad-core CPU and double the RAM of the RN526X.

Thanks for the quick reply, in a nutshell my dev/md0 reached capacity of the Pro 6, reached out for help here and found out I can clear the used space that Crashplan was consuming, I deleted the filled directory along with a files in the directory var/log which enabled my system to work again but shortly after it stopped being accessable again, the firmware wouldn't save any settings I try to enable nor would it allow me access via SSH... thinking maybe I messed up the firmware of the box with failed removal of the system I was just thinking to replace the Pro 6 with one of the newer 6 drive Readynas or migrate the drives to another newer box using OS6... I was thinking of asking one of my friends to borrow their Ultra 6 or something to view the data but that just occured to me as I type this. As I figured the data is there and its just a firmware / OS 4.2 issue on my end.
