UPS Compatibility with Ultra 4 Plus
I have an Ultra 4 Plus and recently purchased a Tripp Lite SMART1500RM2U UPS. When I connect a USB cable to the USB communications interface on the back of the UPS and the other end to the back of the NAS...nothing. The NAS doesn't detect the UPS (RAIDar says no UPS detected).
Is there a trick to activate the USB port on the NAS? I haven't seen anywhere why they wouldn't be compatible. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredWhat version of RAIDiator is on your ReadyNAS?
- lorinomAspirantFairly certain it's the newest version (4.2.19) since the ReadyNAS was purchased late Dec '11 (months after the latest firmware release). Will confirm later this afternoon.
Assuming it does have the newest version (both RAIDiator and RAIDar), what else could the problem be? - lorinomAspirantJust confirmed I'm running the current versions of both RAIDar and RAIDiator. Anyone know why the ReadyNAS doesn't detect the UPS?
- lorinomAspirantCalled Netgear ReadyNAS Tech Support and apparently Tripp Lite SmartPro UPS's are not compatible with the ReadyNAS Ultra line. Hard to believe, but that's what Netgear's engineers are saying.
