USB Disk REFORMATS as smaller size drive ???
[Firmware 6.6 - raidar 6.2] 3TB disk installed for back through a USB3 port. Initial EXT4 format properly recognized the full 2.79TB or so. Then, i reformatter the drive, and it show 2TB capa...

here is my solution:
-- remove USB from readyNAS
-- plug it into a PC
-- run paragon partition manager
-- shows disk as MBR with 2TB max capacity - .8TB unallocated
-- use paragon partition manager or similar; reformay disk as GPT, convert unallocated space to single partition
-- reinstall USB drive back into RN204
-- boots and show ok.
-- setup backups to run overnight
-- backups crash system with kmem-cache_free+8
never a dull moment with readynas and cryptic error messages
