VGA Header for my Pro 6 RNDP6000
Hello, Sorry to necro this thread. At one point I read the thread that tells you which VGA header to buy from Amazon, but it seems all the links don't work, maybe the forums got re-numbered? ...

Nice. If you do want to upgrade the RAM or CPU you should make sure you have the latest BIOS on the unit first.
We migrated over to this community from the old ReadyNAS Community. If you can point me to the post with a broken link I can see what I can find for you.

Hello,
Here is the origianl post (I think) that detailed the VGA header, what top buy, how to look up, etc:
http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=223230#p223230.
So it was topic # 223230.
Here are some posts that reference the now dead link:

Here are some clickable links:
The EXACT header I bought from Amazon:
XFX XFX-LPBRKT VGA Low Profile Bracket Kit MA-BK01-LP1K = $11.92 + $hip
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000HVRRJO?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=od_aui_detailpages00
The good crimper I use to make the ends:
Engineer Inc PA-20 Precise Universal Wire Terminal Crimping Tool $35 + $hip
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002AVVO7U?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s01
I get my ends from eBay, just search on Dupont 2.54mm male/female ends. The wire I used was 24ga. stranded copper:
Remington Industries 24UL1007STRWHI UL1007 24 AWG Gauge Stranded Hook-Up Wire, 300V, 0.0201" Diameter, 100', 2.25" Length, White = $9.55 + $hip
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NB3T6LM?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00
I have a few of the cheaper, blue handle crimpers I bought for $10 or less. If you should Google how many people bitch about how bad those crimpers are, they just make more bad ends than good ones. On the whole, you end up tossing out all the bad crimped wires, whereas the Engineer Crimper makes 10 out of 10 crimps everytime.
Again, PM if you want me to make you a extension VGA header cable, I also have the plastic 16pin ends, all of this I stock for other projects.
