Vol C is DEAD & XRAID Engine Failed to Start (#17820226)
Hi,
A call for super-support!
I am getting the Vol C is Dead message on the LCD of my ReadyNAS NV+. Additionally I receive an alert email that the XRAID Engine has failed to start. There are no disk lights lit up when I turn the NV+ on (though I have four green marks within frontview). Under frontview, under volumes, disk 1-3 show 0MB free while disk 4 shows 1394MB free.
I recently started to notice that when accessing iTunes on the NAS it would freeze both the NAS and iTunes when updating the library. A reset of both (and resync of the NAS) was necessary to get things working again. While investigating what could be the cause, the situation deteriorated to where I'm at now.
System (3-4 years old):
ReadyNAS NV+
4 x 1.5 TB Caviar Green Drives
Hostname: ReadyNAS
Model: ReadyNAS NV+ [X-RAID]
Serial: 000da20274ea
Firmware: RAIDiator 4.1.8 [1.00a043]
Memory: 1024 MB [2.5-3-3-7]
IPv4 address:: 10.0.1.2
Volume C: Online, RAID Level , disks, 28% of 4078 GB used
I haven't been able to use SeaTools on the drives as I don't have access to a PC which I can install the drives into (iMac User).
Based on other posts, I clearly have at least one dead disk, but am unsure how to proceed with the best hopes of recovering any data from the NAS at all. Please let me know if any other information is necessary, or where I can pull logs to help with analysis.
I'm not confident, but hopeful that something can be salvaged!
Thanks
