Hi The Western Digital WD20EARS is now considered end of line, it's direct replacement is the WD20EARX which is exactly the same except it is a 6GB/sec interface (SATA3) as opposed to 3GB/sec (SATA...
I don't see the WD20EARX on any ReadyNAS compatibility list yet. As to your statement "exactly the same except it is a 6GB/sec interface (SATA3)...", it's possible there's under the hood differences. I would stick to options available on the compatibility list.
