Weird fan noise in Ultra 6 Plus
Hello,
I have a really annoying noise coming from my new Ultra 6 Plus. I'm used to my VERY loud PC, my LOUD NV revB, but that U6 noise is really annoying.
Basically, I have a cicada in my NAS. 8) I GUESS it's a fan, but it could be my WD Red HD? Can't pinpoint the origin of the noise atm... :( Anyone had trouble with a faulty fan or something? It's not LOUD, it's the type of noise that is really annoying...

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredDo you have a spare disk you could try booting with? If so, do you still get the issue with just that disk installed?
- AkabaneAspirantThat was my plan yep. Will do that tomorrow. It's 6 AM here. :P :?
I have some HD around to try that. Just need to REALLY not lose the order of the 6 others... - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredYou could note down the position and serial number of the drives.
Also download logs (Status > Logs > Download all logs) as info will also be in there.
I've put a small piece of colored tape on each disk tray that has the slot number on it.Akabane wrote: That was my plan yep. Will do that tomorrow. It's 6 AM here. :P :?
