What are the raid parameters for the sparc NV+?
What are the raid parameters for the sparc NV+? (offset, chunk, partiy rotation, etc.)
My NV+ seems to be on it's last legs, and rather than dump and restore, I'd like to try simply moving the disks...
Can't hurt. If I mess up, the restore is still there. If it works, I'm a couple of hours ahead...
Thanks.

- PapaBear1ApprenticeThe only way to move the drives and not have to backup and re-establish the array would be to move the drives to either a sparc based 4 bay desktops, either the NV+ (v1) or predecessor model or one of the four bay Sparc based rack mount units (1000, 1000S, 1100).
Each line of the ReadyNAS units (Sparc, x-86, ARM) uses a different format so the drives will be wiped and the array re-established with the loss of any data already on the drives. Other manufacturers generally do the same. If you are thinking of moving to newer line (NV+ v2 or Ultra/Pro 4) then a backup/restore of data will be one way. Another way is to install enough new drives in the new unit to do an NAS to NAS backup which will be much faster.
