Which 3TB HD for Pro Pioneer

Each location has different availability, but stick to the ones on the HCL. While you may be able to use drives that are not on the list, you may also encounter problems. The Deskstar drives are consumer grade drives with a 3 year and Ultrastar drives are enterprise class drives with a 5 year warranty and should all have Rotational Vibration Safeguard. This is necessary in arrays with a large number of drives thus makes a difference in 12 bay units. In use in 4 or 6 bay units the enterprise class drives may or many not last longer. At least they have the longer warranty.
