I have a ReadyNAS NVX with 4 disks. As one of my backup disks is now too small, I can either get a bigger one or take the opportunity to buy a new product, then usethe NVX as a backup (with ReadyNAS R...
For those I suggest using the frontview backup option to back up all of home, but backing it up to a temporary share (userdata or some such).

Then use each user's credential to access their share, and drag/drop the files to the new private share. That avoids any permissions issues. Later on, I'd do the same in reverse for the backup (backing up "home" to a regular share on the NVX)
