Which Product(s) to buy
We are new to Netgear NAS products. We need one unit that will store & encrypt data in RAID 1 configuration for 1-2TB of data. We then need to access and transfer this data from outside our LAN. We must transfer the data encrypted. Must be compatible with both Windows and MAC.

- The Duov2 or Pro2 will work for what you are requesting. I would recommend a 4 bay unit if you are needing room for expansion.
All of the ReadyNAS supports ReadyNAS Remote which will have encrypted remote access options. - Store and encrypt? Or, just transfer and encrypt?
Readynas can do transfer and encrypt through Readynas Remote (or FTPS). Store and encrypt you would need a 3rd party solution such as Truecrypt or to consider another NAS vendor that offers at rest encryption. Currently Netgear offers NO at rest encryption.
