Get a ddns address for your external IP (for instance noip.com).
Pick a non-standard secondary port for https (something above 50 000 is best), and configure it in the NAS, and forward it in the router. Then https://ddnsname:port will connect.
For FTPS, I use filezilla on the PC. Again, I use a non-standard port, and set 4 passive ports (5 ports altogether). Forward them all in the router. For secure access, select "Require Explicit FTP over TLS" in filezilla. Normal FTP (insecure) will also connect to the NAS, so make sure you use a good password. (that's needed for http anyway). Filezilla does not require masquerading to be set on the NAS, though some other clients (for instance mobile apps) do.
FileZilla provides folder drag/drop, but is not identical to windows explorer. If you want Windows Explorer, then investing in a VPN router is probably the best approach.
