Do nas's supporting replicate come with licence?Pricing?
I started looking ahead to see but the page for replicate doesn't specify other than "one-time licensed product" though no details on if it comes with the device if I am the first user or what prices ...
The Replicate for Home would have a different product number.
Rsync is actually designed for backups over the internet. There's an old PDF (Using Rsync for NAS-to-NAS Backups). Replicate uses Rsync and does backups over the same VPN used by ReadyNAS Remote. Rsync by itself is not secure so Rsync over VPN or Rsync over SSH are recommended options. Replicate does provide some good advantages over just using Rsync such as multiple versions of files etc.
