downloading torrent to nas at work. controll it at home?
hi. :)
when reading on NAS homepages i came to this:
"Best of all, queuing of the torrents can be done over the web from a slower wireless laptop, but the actual downloading is done on the ReadyNAS which is usually resides on a faster wired connection to Internet."
My Nas i plugged in at router at work.there i have a high speed nettwork.
and i want to start, stop and remove downloads from my laptop at home.
can someone help me with this and explain in a simply way :)
i have enabled remote client on the nas
and installed remote client on my windows laptop.
sorry if my english is crap, am from norway :)

- unless your 'the boss', you may find that downloading torrents over your work connection can get you in trouble or even fired
- carl666Aspirantyes mr. police i am "the boss".
okey...transmission installed and enabled.
but cant log in to the transmission interface.
filling in admin and pasword, but the nas just asking for pasword again and again. no errors ....? - then its good to be 'the boss' :)

Are you wanting to pull one of the drives out of the NAS and then put it in a USB enclosure (or mount in another PC) to copy data off of it? If so, then it's NOT a good idea for a number of reasons.
Upon re-insertion into the NAS, the drive will be re-initialized and then re-synced with the drive that remained in the NAS (essentially wiping out everything on the removed drive).
Have a look at this document: http://www.readynas.com/?p=3153 - carl666Aspirantyes, after a couple of days downloading i want to take the HD ouf of the NAS at work bring it home and put it into a usb kabinette.
for use on my media player.
when complete watching the movies on the HD, i was gonna take the hd back to the nas for more downloading. - carl666Aspirantsoo..what you say is that , in the moment i disconect the hd from the nas it will reinstall and delete the data on the disk next time i put it back in???????????????????
