Dropbox ?
Dropbox is a very handy service for keeping files in sync across multiple computers and it support Windows, Mac, and Linux. I have only tested in Windows so far, but I use Linux as well and might use Mac eventually as well; I would really like to have a share on my Readynas that automatically stays in sync with a folder on all my computers.
Does anyone know if Dropbox can be installed on the Readynas, and if an addon might be possible, if not does anyone know of another free service that can be installed on the Readynas?

- chirpaLuminarySounds good.
- the_evaluatorAspirantHey guys- anyone want to revive this project? I think a lot of users would very much love a basic installer and a way to manage the start script...I'd be glad to donate to the super-poussin cause if he were to pick this up...or whomever does.
- BigbearfAspirantI agree with the above. I installed the dropbox add on several months ago. Have had difficulty managing the startup script. I have tried the code: "/etc/init.d/dropbox start" but evidently I did not do the start up script correctly.
Any help or a manual startup thru ssh root@ip_address_ReadyNAS command would be a good starting point.
Thanks,
bigbearf - claykinAspirantAre you sure you want to continue using Dropbox? They sold out their customers by changing their TOS.
http://www.betanews.com/joewilcox/artic ... 1303489434 - MadlenerAspirantin /etc/inittab you can find that the default runlevel is "2"
id:2:initdefault:
so i used the following script you can find in :
http://forums.dropbox.com/topic.php?id=9454
and copied it to:/etc/init.d/dropbox
and then created this symbolic link to the second runlevel:ln -s /etc/init.d/dropbox /etc/rc2.d/S99dropbox
then dropbox started automatically on my NAS upon reboot - sphardy1ApprenticeI use the same method as madlener - had it running for months that way
There's also the updaterc.d command to create the necessary start & kill files in /etc/rc2.d - the_evaluatorAspirantdoes anyone feel like reviving this request for a semi-official add on? i can't help but think that many, many readynas users would consider this incredibly useful. i'd contribute or help fund the effort.
