Duo v1 DNS updater for enom.com?
Hi All:
I am using my old Duo v1 as a target for a remote backup. The target location only has a dynamic IP and I have been using the ddclient add-on on my Duo v1 to update DNS-o-Matic (i never could get the official dnsomatic add-on to work) which in turn updates enom.com which is hosting my domain. This set-up worked for over a year but now enom.com has implemented some changes and as a result DNS-o-Matic no can no longer update enom.com
Enom have published their requirements on how to update the IP address (http://www.enom.com/help/faq_dynamicdns.asp), is there a way to use a different add on or change the config file of ddclient so that I can update enom.com directly? Unfortunately my programming skills are quite limited, so I cannot use the c++ code myself.
Many thanks!
Chris

- chirpaLuminaryAs a temporary work around, or for others that are looking for similar setup, I've been using http://www.dnsdynamic.org/ lately for a few hosts. It's a free service, and a simple shell script in cronjob can keep it updated.
# cat /etc/cron.hourly/updateip.sh
#!/bin/sh
EMAIL=my.email@gmail.com
PASSWORD=mypassword
DOMAIN=myhostname.dnsd.info
IP=`curl --silent http://myip.dnsdynamic.com/`
curl --silent --user "$EMAIL:$PASSWORD" -k "https://www.dnsdynamic.org/api/?hostname=$DOMAIN&myip=$IP" - Chris_SAspirantthanks for that, although I was hoping to use my own domain.
For the not so competent users here: how do I get the script to run?
