Open Files on iOS

Sorry if this has been covered, did a search & couldn't find anything.
I have Remote up & running, accessing from PC's & Macs no problem, figured out the iOS (both iPad & iPhone) access, and can see my shares fine. My question is can I open a file in another program, after it has been downloaded to local files. I want to be able to open a pdf in goodreader, or a dwg in AutoCAD WS. There is a share button (used in other apps to open files in another program, or send them in email) but it is grayed out. I've tried touching & holding, which works in an email, but no luck.
Is this not yet supported, or do I have a setting wrong somewhere that is preventing this? Thanks.

  • Yes, I have this question too. Once the file is in the local files, I need to be able to use it!
  • I would also like to know the answer to your question...
  • Each IOS app is sandboxed. For them to share the local files, they would need to enable the Open In feature Apple has added.

It would be nice to see. I use such feature with IOS DropBox to upload/download files from other applications.
