Permission Denied on Readynas RNDU 2000
HI,
Alessandro from Bologna Italy, bye to everybody.
I purchased an RNDU 2000 from netgear who seems quite solid and working with my local net (DNLA and 3 PCs). Then I dowloaded TRansmission and Installed it on my nas, but I met the same error "Permission Denied" of many others.
Is it possible that transmission meets a conflict with utorrent that is downloading on another PC?
I ask this because before remove all the torrents that are not yet downloaded I would like to be sure to make this for nothing.
Sorry, any other suggestion, also a link to a post in the forum, where I can find the correct settings for transmission with my readynas RNDU 2000 and a router netgear dgn 2200? It's quite a bit that I'm trying to solve the problem but before getting "specialized" in Net-problems (that would be interesting but unfortunatlly I don't have much time to spend for it) I would appeciate an helpful hand that helps me to fix the problem.
Thanks and I hope to have posted in the right section. :D

- BikeHelmetAspirant"Permission Denied" - is that for the files you're downloading, or settings.json?
You have to stop the addon to edit settings.json.
I'm not sure what would cause permission errors for the files downloaded, but you can reset permissions from the Frontview in the shares section. - chighemezuAspirantHi,
thanks for answering, "permission denied error" appears after a bit of regular downloading. Sadly I haven't seen yet setting.json because after downloading and installing SSH I'm not able to see it in the add on programs...don't know why and, for this reason I'm not quite sure to understand the question: "Permission Denied" - is that for the files you're downloading, or settings.json?"
how can I stop the add on?
what do you mean by saying: "reset permissions from the Frontview in the shares section".
I'm sorry but I'm really green in net-problem so to say... - andyknAspirantI know this is a bit out of date but I've just had and fixed this problem. If you get error:permission denied a lttle way into your first download and have just installed Transmission with no other configs then:
- open your ReadyNAS admin page
- go to Shares
- click the Read/Write options icon under CIFS for the "media" share
- click the "Advanced" tab
- select "Set ownership and permission for existing files and folders in this share to the above settings. This option is useful in cases where you are changing security levels and need to workaround file access problems."
- select "Apply"
Then delete and readd the torrent.
