Hi all :D This is my first post here so go easy with me ...OK I've recently bought a second hand ReadyNAS Duo V1 and am trying to get it up & running as a web server to use wordpress on. I have read plenty of info on the subject and followed a couple of guides to the best of my ability but have come across the problem of not being able to log into PhpMyAdmin due to the Username & Password that is highly discussed elsewhere on the web.Now my question is, when it says 'Edit the file config.inc.php' where exactly am I supposed to be looking for this file to edit? I have searched high & low for an answer to this but to no avail. I'm along the lines of thinking that it maybe something to do in Front View under the MysqlOn option which brings me to my second question, although its more of a query. In Front View MysqlOn is on and up & running but the inner box shows no content at all, is this correct? Its just that the PHP5 & PHPMyAdmin have content in their inner boxes but the MysqlOn is completely blank. using login "root" and letting password empty doesn't work ? That's how it is done on OS6.Do you try to have phpmyadmin or wordpress ? because for wordpress the site says that you should edit "wp-config.php". PhpMyadmin has a file called config.inc.php. The problem is to know where the files were copied to. Usual Debian setup would suggest /var/www but since this is an addon it could be anywhere as long as it is specified in an apache configuration. Otherwise than that, I can't really help as I don't have the NAS to test. You may contact the addon creator to get more information. I believe the file you seek is accessible only via SSH but the location varies depending on the configuration.

I have been trying to follow the work around here http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=72799 and here http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/linux-newbie-8/can't-login-to-phpmyadmin-819842/ but I am totally confused by it as I am not sure where I am supposed to be looking for the files, and how?Thank you once again :)

The last post on one of the above threads ends with this 'I know I'm bringing this older post alive... but since I didn't see resolution and recently installed the WhoCares? MyPHPAdmin plugin myself on my ReadyNAS (albeit Ultra)... I did manage to figure out where this setting needs to be made is in /etc/phpmyadmin/config.inc.php. Just need to uncomment the line with AllowNoPassword and then you can login with root and no password.'So my question is where is /etc/phpmyadmin/config.inc.php and how do I access it?Sorry for being such a dumb ass :P

/etc is on the OS partition. You enable ssh to access it, and use something like putty. Once there, you either -use vi, or -copy it to the data partition, and edit it with an editor like notepad++ which preserves linux formatting (not notepad). Then copy it back with ssh when done.You enable ssh by installing the sparc binary of the enablerootssh add-on here: http://www.readynas.com/?p=4203

I'm sorry but when you say do I see the shared folders on the NAS am I actually looking on the NAS or do you mean in either Terminal or iTerm!?!

On the NAS itself I see : admin backup homes media & Website folders but no shares
& under Frontview I have Website AFP, backup NSF & AFP, media AFP & webroot non shares set up.

backup and media are shares that were created by default.

"cd /c" should navigate you to the NAS data volume
"ls -l" does a listing of the contents of the folder you are in.

So when you type "ls -l" in terminal and iterm, you should see a list of files in response. That list should include the shared folders you created on the NAS, because you should have navigated into the NAS data volume. If you aren't seeing that list, then you are doing something wrong. It's hard to know exactly what, since I don't know how you are launching terminal and iterm (and I'm not a mac guy anyway).

Yeah I am seeing nothing at all ... Is it something to do with the fact that I don't have any webroot shares turned on!?!

No.

Most likely you aren't really logged into the NAS with either iterm or terminal. ls -al would return something.

OK I think I am logged in now and this is what I get :

That shows your GRANT share.

To see the contents of the GRANT share you could do e.g.

# ls -la /c/GRANT

or look recursively using e.g.

# ls -laR /c
