ReadyNAS duo X-RAID - Copy to Mac or Windows not working
Hi I'm struggling with an old ReadyNAS still in good condition that i've brought back into service. I want to copy off some of the data and use this to back up an old iMac in preparation to rest...

Obviously, the first step is to update the firmware to the last version available for your NAS, 4.1.16. But even then, you are going to have to contend with the fact that yoiur old NAS does not support newer network protocols such as SMB2 or SMB3. I'm not a Mac user, but I believe SMB1 has been completely disabled on them. But perhaps you can make do with AFP or NFS.

Thanks Sandshark, I've updated the Firmware but still can't use the copy and paste functions. If I drag the icon out of the file list onto the desktop PC or MAC it plays the media via a URL to the NAS.
I believe the upload option is still working, but no option to download, any further ideas?
Thanks
