Seeing you have no responses, I'm going to take a guess:
Aiff was not a common file type when the last update of your NAS firmware came out, so I suspect its version of UpNp simply does not support them. If the problem were with SMB1 or TLS1.1 (which affect other protocols), I don't think you'd even see the directory.
Does your amp support any streaming protocols or direct access via SMB or NFS?

I agree that ReadyDLNA probably just doesn't support that format. Unfortunately I've never seen a list of the formats it supports.
It might be worth putting a test mp3 into the music folder, and see if that plays in the streamer. That would confirm that the problem is just the aiff format, and not the upnp server itself.
You could also try converting one of the aiff files to flac and alac, and see if either of those play.
