ReadyNAS Remote Duo V2 installation
I recently purchased a ReadyNAS Duo v2 and when I go to the add on tab to install readynas remote and click "get" a message comes up saying installation in progress, please wait for confirmation. I have waited over a day and it still says this. I have also done a factory reset and the message is still coming up. Please let me know if there is any additional information I can provide to solve this problem.

- sschneidAspirantI've tried it with three browsers and factory new hard drives.
Same thing - nothing in the event log.
The ARM bin's aren't available on the website or I would try a manual install. The torrent client installed just fine. - wasted_dAspirant

i actually tried it both ways, first by using the boot menu on the nas drive itself to do a factory restore, (holding reset, waiting for all lights then pressing the backup button) but i could not get this to do anything so i then put the drives into my pc an deleted the partitions. Then set the nas up again as i did the first time when i got it.
Nas Photo II and TransmissionBT both are both installed an working, this problem, for me, is just with the nas remote. - rogercaplanAspirantSame problem here; tried 3 different browsers on both a mac (lion) and pc (Windows 7).
I also took a look at the ajax requests using firebug and didn't see any obvious errors (404, etc.). - MillsAspirantI finally found a solution to the problem. I returned the duo v2. This software was released before it was out of beta.

That is disappointing.Mills wrote:

Contradiction in terms. Release of software as a production release indicates its out of beta.
I'm curious as to why you've been having problems installing the add-on as it installed fine on my beta system. - wasted_dAspirant

Well thats ok then because if thats all the problem is then itll surely be sorted out in a firmware/software update. - sschneidAspirantWell I fixed it by resetting to factory default. Lost the entire HD data, but thats ok because it was fairly new.
But now I've got a different issue. On the ReadyNAS client (iPhone) it needs my FTP information. Unfortunately, on the Duo, it does not come pre-loaded with an FTP server. So I'm stuck.
So how does one actually use ReadyNAS remote on devices other than a PC with the Duo v2?
I have to say, I'm inclined to return the Duo v2. It seems to have half of the capabilities and twice the bugs! The only reason I might want to hang on is if this is the new platform for the future and if most of the stuff gets ported over relatively quickly. (itunes server, tivo archiving, ftp server, readynas remote on ipad/iphone, etc).
I'm going to write up and publish a two-week in review of the Duo v2 shortly. Here's hoping things improve. :( - sphardy1Apprentice

At this point in time, Remote is not supported on devices beyond Windows and OSX. - MillsAspirantAt least on mine doing multiple factory resets didn't seem to solve the problem. I actually purchased an ultra 2 instead and I am much happier with the product.
- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredRemote is supported on iOS/Android devices, just not yet with the new Duo/NV+ v2 products. A solution is being worked on.
