ReadyWOL with Remote Backup

I hope someone can help me because I have done numerous searches on this forum and cannot seem to find a solution to my problem. I was able to successfully install the ReadyWOL add-on and it works well but it is a manual process. However,I would like to know how to make my ReadyNAS wake up my Windows 7 computer since it goes to sleep after a certain period of inactivity. I am aware I can change my power settings on my computer to never go to sleep but I prefer not to. Is there something I can do to initiate ReadyWOL before my backup jobs being every evening? Thank you in advance!

The 4.2.x Pro/Ultra firmware has this feature built-in, but the other NAS (including OS6) do not have it at all.

I don't know of any add-ons that sends WoL on a schedule - I agree they would be useful - like you I need to wake up my PCs for backup.
  • That would certainly be a nice feature for the Duo StephenB. Maybe someone at reads these forums.

Netgear probably won't add any features to the duo at this point - it's been end-of-life for a few years.

One of the add-on gurus might though!
  • I'm willing to make a donation to the add-on guru who can make this happen! :-)
