replicate errors
ok we've had the replicate licences for a while now and at first it was erroring when trying to run a backup job both data and system. didnt worry too much as they weren't getting used until the site had been properly fitted out. Now we have to ensure data is being backed up. after countless searches this is what i've found and would like to know how this can be rectified.
NAS1 is data, NAS2 is the backup drive
NAS1: 2x 2TB drives - 10GB snapshot space
NAS2: 4x 2TB drives - 50GB snapshot space
both devices are pro4's
both RAIDiator v4.2.19 - Updated today, also performed several reboots after the upgrade
both Replicate v1.1.0 - Updated today, also performed several reboots after the upgrade
now when i run a data backup job, with snapshots turned off, it successfully completes a backup but the log still contains errors...

- Try to disable snapshot when you create a new job.
- ephectAspirantis that an auto reply? because clearly my post was not read at all.
as with any question, the more detail you provide the quicker an answer can be correctly answered. please re-read my post in full. i had even highlighted the important errors and info in redarjoseph wrote: Try to disable snapshot when you create a new job.
whats the point of having snapshots if they dont work and have to be turned off? - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredI would suggest you take a look at the "Need Immediate Help" sticky in this forum.
- Sometimes the size of the data being used during the backup process is more than the snapshot size reserved for it. This cuases the errors when doing the backup. So disabling it will somehow isolate the problem. Try also to minimize the data access when backup job is in progress.
- Disabling snapshots may be the best practice for the first backup as so much data will be transferred that the potential for the source’s snapshot buffer to run-out is high.
However, it is recommended to enable snapshots, if possible, as they will ensure a consistent backup if files are changing on the source when the backup is running.
You can disable snapshots for the first run of the job, then edit the job and re-enable snapshots for subsequent runs. - ephectAspiranti'll try enabling snapshots again now and post back tomorrow. currently the data is only 62mb so no chance of exceeding the snapshots buffer, so that rules that out.The backup is set to run at 11pm and there hasnt been any access during this time, i've checked the site access logs.
is there any detailed logging on the cards for replicate?
