[REQ] Google Drive File sync
Hi,
This may have been asked before..
But since one can store files in google docs storage pretty cheap.... has anybody thought of creating a sync module ?
So that one can do a (cheap) cloud backup of your local files, and vice versa ofcourse.
See eg here at the Google IO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sp8fotnTwj8&feature=player_embedded#!

This topic was first called Google Storage sync but since that Google released Google Drive yesterday i thought it would warrant a bump and a rename..

Hey thats more than i can ask for.
Would be nice though as an low cost alternative to the other cloud based hosting packages.
And since there is a web interface for it (Google Docs...) you can access them everywhere.
Although i don't know all the other cloud packages the packages up to 400Gb look fairly cheap to me.
Pricing:
20 GB ($5.00 USD per year)
80 GB ($20.00 USD per year)
200 GB ($50.00 USD per year)
400 GB ($100.00 USD per year)
1 TB ($256.00 USD per year)
2 TB ($512.00 USD per year)
4 TB ($1,024.00 USD per year)
8 TB ($2,048.00 USD per year)
16 TB ($4,096.00 USD per year) - MichaelR64AspirantThe Egnyte plan is $25 per month for 150Gb.
Although it has perhaps more options, for just plain backup of your files as SOHO user coupled with webaccess $50 per YEAR just can't be beat ... - JohnnyEgnyteAspirantHi MichaelR64,

Egnyte is a good cloud file sync product, but as you mentioned, it's a bit expensive for personal use. Egnyte has many business features beyond just file storage, which is why the price/plan levels are aimed at small - medium businesses. But we are currently in development of a smaller "personal plan" that can be integrated on the ReadyNAS at a much lower price point.
