[REQ] Google Drive File sync
Hi,
This may have been asked before..
But since one can store files in google docs storage pretty cheap.... has anybody thought of creating a sync module ?
So that one can do a (cheap) cloud backup of your local files, and vice versa ofcourse.
See eg here at the Google IO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sp8fotnTwj8&feature=player_embedded#!
---------------------edit ------------------
This topic was first called Google Storage sync but since that Google released Google Drive yesterday i thought it would warrant a bump and a rename..

- CharlesLaCourAspirantThe terms of service on Drop Box are very different from Google services.
Actually Drop Box ToS says:
You retain full ownership to your stuff. We don’t claim any ownership to any of it. These Terms do not grant us any rights to your stuff or intellectual property except for the limited rights that are needed to run the Services, as explained below.
Further it goes on to say:
To be clear, aside from the rare exceptions we identify in our Privacy Policy, no matter how the Services change, we won’t share your content with others, including law enforcement, for any purpose unless you direct us to. How we collect and use your information generally is also explained in our Privacy Policy.
This is a far cry from:
you give Google (and those we work with) a worldwide license to use, host, store, reproduce, modify, create derivative works (such as those resulting from translations, adaptations or other changes we make so that your content works better with our Services), communicate, publish, publicly perform, publicly display and distribute such content. - MichaelR64AspirantWell apparently they listened to their customers then.
I read this: http://www.zdnet.com/blog/bott/google-c ... -container and did not check if dropbox changed their TOS.
My bad.
I am confident though this will change for Google as well, it is to restrictive to be usable.
That said, i still want my NAS to sync to Google ... :-) - tomeinarAspirant

Well it took them a bit longer ....
But here it is: http://drive.google.com
And the sdk is at : https://developers.google.com/drive/
I'll be the first to donate to this charitable cause :D
Anyone interesting in creating a plugin so that we can backup our nas to the cloud, an affordable one...
I think your suggestion is good, and I would also like to see such an add-on
