ssh access to readynas
as far as i understand, there is no shell access to the device. manual says that ssh is not available out of the box. togglessh is supposed to grant ssh access for support purposes. BUT: togglessh ...
You don't lose NetGear support by enabling SSH access. You linked to a very old thread.
If it's found that you likely caused problems through use of SSH access NetGear may deny support. If you maintain regular backups if you are denied support you can always do a factory default (wipes all data, settings, everything) and restore from backup to restore full software support.
ToggleSSH will enable/disable the SSH service. If it is disabled it will enable it, if it is enabled it will disable it. ToggleSSH is used to enable SSH for support use.
EnableRootSSH is used to enable access for the 'root' user with the password initially set to be the same as the current 'admin' password at the time you install EnableRootSSH.
As for your problem can you try downloading the logs (Status > Logs > Download all Logs). The backup job logs should be in the zip file that is downloaded.
