- xalerAspirantI would love this too! :)
- wumpusAspirantI too have built Sabnzbd and find it very useful and powerful, especially with Newzbin - really great tool.
I agree, I'm only managing to get around 750kb/sec, but if I use a usenet client on my Mac I get closer to 2Mb/sec (I have a 20MBit connection). I don't think there's much I can do about it, I assume the processor is the constraint, and the value of unattended downloads, checking and unpacking outweighs the slow throughput. tristan wrote: Would be very nice to have this as an addon!
Add me to the list who would like to see this as an addon. Note: I have both an NV+ and a Pro and hopefully if I ran it on the Pro the performance would be a lot better.- vankwishAspirantLong time reader, first time poster, so hello to all and kudos to such a great community!
I too have tried and failed to follow the steps (noob :( ), so another "any chance it can be made into an addon!? I have an NV+ 1GB
Thank You - johnybAspirantI could really use some help with installing SABnzbd+, I did try the guide linked in this post but it does not work. I dont know linux/unix at all so any help would be appreciated
- sander11AspirantIt would be great if someone could update this tutorial for Intel, or of course make an add-on.
- johnybAspirantOk so after reseting my ReadyNas Duo, I went through the steps again...
This time when I invoke "/etc/init.d/sabnzbd start" I get the following error message....
-bash: /etc/init.d/sabnzbd: Permission denied
I tried restarting the box to see if the boot up script will run, but no joy. The only thing I changed in the script was the IP address of my readynas (ie 192.168.0.50 to 192.168.0.32)
Help would be much appreciated... - sander11AspirantI got it running, but I haven't made the init.d script yet.
Have you been able to run it directly from the command line? I found I would get errors unless didn't include the full path to python and only put python instead of the path to python2.5. Have you tried that? - johnybAspirantWithin the init.d the locations for python and sabnzbd are as follows:-
/usr/local/bin/python2.5 /usr/local/src/SABnzbd/SABnzbd.py -d -f /etc/SABnzbd/sabnzbd.ini
But when I look at the directory structure for my nas, there is no SABznd directory in the /usr/local/src/ folder?
Plus there is no /etc/SABnzbd/sabnzbd.ini (in fact there is no SABnzbd folder in /etc at all)
So although I can manualy run the program using /usr/local/bin/python2.5 /root/src/SABnzbd-0.4.6/SABnzbd.py .... there is no ini file for SABnzb to use for settings... So when I try to resolve to the URL //192.168.0.32:8080/sabnzbd it does not work.
When I went through the install process, I first use WinSCP to connect to the nas as Root, then via this open a connection via Putty (again logging in as root) before running throught the install... Could there be a permissions issue here? - sander11AspirantI think the permissions issue is the failure notice from not being able to read the ini file. I don't remember exactly the steps I took, its a little too frustrating to recall. :x
I do remember manually creating the path for the ini file and then manually copying over an ini file I had from my old crashed system and modifying it for the readynas. I would google a sample ini or install it on your main system and copy over the ini file from there.
Other than that, I used the latest sabnzbd at the time 0.4.11 and it works, but for some reason can't generate the api key so I disable it.
