tonido install problem

When I install tonido 1.2 using the community add-on I'm left with failed apt dependencies. I've installed/uninstalled several times and this is repeatable. A real nuisance because it gets in the way of installing anything. apt-get update won't fix this. apt-get -f install removes tonido to fix it :-).

This is a new pro 6.

thanks,

steve

You might want to run `apt-get -f install' to correct these.
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
libfontconfig1: Depends: libfreetype6 (>= 2.3.5) but 2.2.1-5+etch3 is installed
Depends: fontconfig-config (= 2.6.0-3) but 2.4.2-1.2 is installed
tonido: Depends: libfreetype6 (>= 2.3.5) but 2.2.1-5+etch3 is installed
Depends: fontconfig (>= 2.4.2-1.2) but it is not installed
E: Unmet dependencies. Try using -f.

  • Does anyone else see this? It's annoying because when I install other addons I think they frequently do an "apt-get -f install" which uninstalls tonido! I think the addon probably needs to be updated to use the latest libraries.

  • First of all, try installing fontconfig manually:
    apt-get fontconfig

    See the latest information about the mentioned packages:
    -libfreetype6
    -fontconfig
    -fontconfig-config

    Try to download the latest source for these packages from the web and manually compile them.

    Afterwards, try to run the installation again.
